Nature's Lush Color Collection
Designs & hues inspired by natural forms & Fauvist art

.jpg)
Inspired by imperfections of natural forms, minimalist design, and fauvist artwork, "Lush Color" includes 200+ fabrics of folk-like, playful, exuberant patterns for the interior design trade and manufacturers. Textiles were dyed, woven and printed to exact specification. Main colors Lettuce (a soft green of sprouting grass) and Butternut (an ochre yellow of natural vegetable dyes) explore the relationship greens and oranges play in nature. Truffle (a neutral brown underneath a mushroom cap) is the grounding color. Fabrics were highlighted and vignettes were created with the Marketing team. Images illustrate a successful design process where brand vision was consistent from concept to development to market.

Concept Creation & Design Direction. Inspired by imperfections of natural forms (i.e. constellations and foliage), minimalist design and fauvist artwork by Raoul Duffy and Henri Matisse.
Color Exploration
The relationship that greens and oranges play in nature was explored. Accent colors were then curated from custom color cad chips, tear sheets, and fabric swatches. No pantone chips.

Design Development
Color blankets begin to arrive! Blankets are narrowed down to the best selection. This is a first fabric edit for color scheme matches.
Pattern Development & Color Work
Artwork was sourced, and created with mills, and paired to constructions. The original paisley painting was created at a Parisian textile house in the mid-20th century. Here is the design adaptation in color work trials.
